An Automation Information Analyst in the Automation Department at clients petroleum company in Lake Charles manufacturing complex is responsible for IT equivalent support for the Process Control Network (PCN), also referred to as Operational Technology Network (OTN). This network includes systems and devices that directly and indirectly control the safe, environmentally friendly and efficient operation of the refinery. This position provides support for traditional IT elements such as AD Domain and Computer Management, Disaster Recovery, Endpoint Protection and Cyber Security Risk Management.  Additionally, this position provides support for numerous Industrial Control Systems (ICS) applications including, but not limited to, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DCS, Tank Gauging Systems, Environmental Compliance Systems, data integration to and from the Business Network, Alarm and Event Logging and Reporting, Laboratory Information System and Data Historian systems. 


 


Job Responsibilities:



  • Preparing and maintaining policies, procedures and standards governing the security operations for ICS systems and networks

  • Performing system administration, troubleshooting and problem resolution for a diverse slate of systems and applications

  • Performing routine monitoring and maintenance of critical decision support systems and infrastructure

  • Working with users to evaluate needs, design, develop, implement and support solutions

  • Managing small to medium sized projects


Required Qualifications :

Education/Experience Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or other Engineering discipline

  • 3-5 years of experience in Operational Technology or in IT with responsibilities for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) elements

  • 3 years of RDBMS experience in ORACLE and Microsoft SQL Server, preferred

  • Must be willing to perform rotating on-call duty, occasional weekend or evening work hours, and some occasional travel to attend specialized training, meetings or conferences

  • Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials Card)

  • Valid drivers' license


The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of Industrial Control Systems and Operational Technology fundamentals, including but not limited to:



  • Distributed control systems (DCS) and supervisory control & data acquisition (SCADA) architecture

  • Leading IT and OT security practices

  • Security technologies such as firewalls, Industrial Control Systems, IPS, endpoint security solutions, access control systems, and other related security technologies within ICS environment

  • Operational technologies such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)

  • Infrastructure and network architecture and design, LAN/WAN implementation, and Windows/Linux environments

  • Operating systems, IT and OT network communication protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC, OPC UA, and PROFINET, etc.) and ability to perform packet analysis

  • Understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits in Industrial Control Systems environments and appropriate mitigation techniques


Eligibility Requirements:


The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.
