Desktop Support Specialist/Technician


As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be part of a team of IT professionals who provide in-house technical PC hardware and software support for our client. You will respond to user calls and support tickets and work to address the user needs both remotely and in person. While your primary focus will be on support of end-user workstation devices, you will also be responsible for management of network devices, VoIP, Active Directory account and email administration and support a variety of applications. Opportunities also exist to work on special projects in which you will get to research new technology and solve more complex problems. We are looking for IT associates who are responsible, dependable, and committed to building a long-term career. You must be a self-starter and goal-driven team player with solid organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.


Responsibilities:


·       Responding to client support requests


·       Problem management and escalation of issues in a timely manner


·       Prioritization of tasks and meeting of deadlines, excellent time management skills


·       Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem


·       Troubleshooting hardware and software issues


·       Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals


·       Installing and upgrading operation systems and computer software


·       Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.


·       Advising on software and hardware upgrades


·       Providing basic training on computer operation and management


·       Completing job reports and ordering supplies


·       Keep up-to-date on market trends, theory and new ways of doing things; embrace change


Required Qualifications :
 

Qualifications:


·       2-year IT degree or equivalent experience; A+ Certification is a plus


·       Basic knowledge of Windows 7/8/10


·       Microsoft Office Suite


·       Microsoft Windows Administration tools (AD Users and Computers, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Sites and Services, etc.)


·       Understanding of basic network concepts


·       Understanding of application, desktop, and server virtualization


·       Understanding of Desktop Deployment / Imaging


·       Bachelor’s Degree a plus


·       Highly motivated to take advantage of and seek out opportunities to learn


·       Good communication and organizational skills


·       Outgoing, team oriented and goal driven


·       Professional, strong work ethic


·       Desire to work in a fast-paced environment


·       Desire for a long-term career in an Information Technology field

  • CompTIA A+ Certification a plus

  • MDAA, MCSA • Windows Server 2008/ 2012/ 2016

  • Microsoft Office 365 Admin portal

  • Understanding of File Permissions (NTFS & Sharing)
