I.T. Controls Lead - Contractor

Houston, TX 77077


I.T. SOX consultant/contractor to assist Internal Controls in key SOX control testing requirements for SOX readiness assessment for 2021 fiscal year.

  1. Perform testing of general I.T. and application internal controls, primarily within SAP ERP environment.

  2. Document general I.T. control testing in company provided testing templates.

  3. Track and provide summaries of control testing results as requested.

  4. Provide recommendations on control testing approaches/strategies and remediation testing (if necessary).

Required Qualifications :


  • College Degree (Bachelors Level). Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (or similar degree).

The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is: 5-8 years.


List any specialized training or unique skills required:

  • Previous general I.T. and application control testing experience (5-8 years) specifically with SAP and Oracle.

  • Previous SOD testing experience within SAP GRC.

  • Ability to work with all levels of internal and external auditors and collaborate with subject matter experts and team members to complete compliance and delivery requirements.

  • Understanding of SOX, COSO and COBIT testing requirements.

  • Attention to deliverables with accuracy and efficiency; strong business acumen, including responding and articulating processes and issues related to I.T. SOX

  • Experience developing and maintaining I.T. control documentation - control matrices, narratives, process flows, etc.

  • Strong ability to identify and provide solution to mitigate potential I.T. SOX related risks.

  • Ability to collaborate and liaise with all Technology groups and vendors.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications on Windows-based system (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.).

  • Adept at troubleshooting and persistent at achieving results.

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, initiative and integrity. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple assignments with allocated timeframes.
